theory37.com began in July of 2004 as a simple Movable Type blog. My intention was to create a site where I could post interesting bits of drivel I found on the internet, and perhaps a photo or two. Sadly, in December of 2005, I was suddenly unable to access my site. Thus version 2 of theory37.com was born, this time using Word Press as opposed to Movable Type. Version 3 came later when I moved to a different host and began using a nice plug in called lightbox2. This went well for a while, until I discovered that on the 10th of July, 2010, my SQL database had been damaged somehow. After backing up what I could, and some careful consideration, I decided to start theory37.com v4 from scratch, this time focusing on my true interest, photography. Please enjoy!
I hold a Bachelors of Science in both Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from Norwich University, and a Masters of Science in the same field from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. I am working on my PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics. My research website can be found here. Aside from photography, I run, hike, camp, and lately canoe, although I enjoy kayaking as well. I am a major Half-Life / 2 and Portal / 2 (!) fan, a Linux user (Kubuntu is my current favorite), and dabble in high performance computing. A geek who likes to be outside, I guess you could say.
This blog template is the same that Daily Wolfeboro uses. Simple, photo-centric, and very easy to use. These days I have other things to worry about – I can’t be bothered with clunky, slow, and hard-to-use photo blog format.
